With the mock up engine in the car, it was time to marry the body to the newly modded frame, and take it to a professional shop for some serious work that is beyond my abilities. This is February of 2015.
I wanted someone near the Jackson, MS area, so I could check in with them easily. A couple of people recommended Chris Brown, who owns White Rino Fabrications. He is a small shop, but can fab just about anything.
His initial "to do" list was: mount engine bars with spuds for upper shock mounts, mount steering shaft, mount pedals, and build custom headers.
Chris started on the driver side. We used a 2" diameter ICE Engine Works kit to speed this up, but it still takes a lot of man hours. First mock up fit well, but the tube lengths were all over the place. Some playing around got them within an inch.
Here you can see that the steering column needs to come right right where the engine bay bar is, to line up in the center of the seat. Dang!
Down low you can see the custom made body mount tab, coming off the back of the new dog leg. The new front clip's dog legs were about 4" further back into the chassis than the oem location. between this and keeping the bottom of the headers above the bottom of the frame rails, the entire stock floor pans are now toast.
